The Godoy family are global partners with the Brethren Church in Chile, South America. They are involved with a new and exciting ministry called PUERTAS (“Doors”).
The goal of the PUERTAS ministry is to bring hope to the needy fishing village of Papudo, Chile, by opening doors of vocational opportunities, creating community, and introducing villagers to “The Door” – Jesus.
This October Amy Collett will be traveling to Malawi with International Teams (ITeams), a global non-profit organization fueling a movement to change the future of communities worldwide through integrated community transformation. She will serve for two years with There is Hope Ministries which seeks to work with the refugee community in Malawi, to see refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable people rise above difficult circumstances by fully utilizing their potential to self-sufficiency and to making a positive contribution to society. Italo and Rebecca Abuid lead the development of a children’s school and church plant in the Amazon fringe area near Puerto Maldonado, Peru. El Roi International Ministries works with families living in the shantytown communities of Lima, Peru. They currently minister to 40 street kids, between the ages of 6 and 16, and their families. A majority of these kids work to make a living by selling candies, washing cars, or playing musical instruments on street corners and buses. We are proud to partner with Riverside Christian School in Lost Creek, Kentucky. A team from First Brethren travels to Kentucky each year to provide a Vacation Bible School for the children of Lost Creek and perform service projects for the school and community.
