Pastor Kurt

Kurt came to First Brethren as an intern in 1993. He fell in love with the people (especially one young woman, who he married the following year!). Thirty plus years later, Kurt and Heidi now have four young adult children and a few grandkids. They are a global family: Isaac is from India, Caleb (married to Carsyn) is theirs biologically, and Beletu & Hanna are sisters from Ethiopia. One interesting hobby for Kurt and Heidi is that they transformed their small old 4H goat barn into an Airbnb called The Shed Retreat. People from all over find their way to the Shed, and experience God there too.

Lead Pastor

Pastor Ron

Ron has been with NMFBC since 2007. He has been married to his wife, Pei Eng, since 1984. He enjoys studying and teaching the Bible and learning about Bible backgrounds. Ron was born and raised a Buckeye (which some say is a useless nut) and enjoys sports, especially baseball. He follows Cleveland teams and Ohio State. He also likes jokes…especially funny ones.

Ron Burns

Associate Pastor of
Adult Ministries

Micah

Micah works with couples and young adults at First Brethren. He has been with us since the fall of 2021, when he started as an intern in the youth group. He has been married to Sariya since 2023, and they have one dog named Samson. In his free time Micah enjoys rooting for the Baltimore Ravens and St. Louis Blues. He also loves playing board games and video games when he gets the chance.

Micah Hoffman

Adult Discipleship Coordinator

Chris

Chris came to First Brethren in 2024. His wife, Yvette, is his ministry partner and #1 volunteer, and has been helping to keep him on task since they married in 1993. They have 1 son, 1 daughter, a son-in law, and 4 grandsons. Before coming to First Brethren, Chris was a Deputy Sheriff for 23 years and then worked in the dining hall in camp ministry. His favorite things about working with youth are developing relationships with them and watching them grow closer to the Lord. In his spare time, he loves to spend as much time outdoors as possible – in the woods, camping, hiking, and seeing God’s creations. He also likes to go magnet fishing and see what treasures he can find!
