ARCHIVED SERMONS JAN.-MAR. 2013
March 31, “The Scars of Jesus” – Pastor Kurt
Easter – Resurrection Sunday. Why did Jesus have scars? What do the scars prove? What story do they tell? What stories do our scars – external and internal – tell? His scars are indicators of His love for us. They are signs of His enduring healing power to change a life…our included.
March 24, “BE like Jesus – Faithfulness” – Pastor Kurt
The faithfulness of God is evidenced in the covenants He has established with His people. Our covenant keeping God is still faithful and true. His word is dependable and authoritative.
March 17, “BE like Jesus – Goodness” – Pastor Kurt
Be not deceived – God is Good! From the days in the garden of Eden to our day now, the devil wants us to doubt God’s goodness. Based on Genesis 3 and James 1 this message reveals the reasons for our doubts and reveals the firm truths about God’s character.
March 10, “BE like Jesus – Kindness” – Pastor Kurt
It is not always easy to be kind. Jesus teaches about kindness through the story of the Good Samaritan and challenges readers to model the kind of kindness that would set us apart from everyone else in this world… kindness to those who don’t like us or are different from us. This is Authentic Kindness.
March 3, “The Life of a Tire: Pressure, Alignment and Wear” – Pastor Tim Garner
District Pastor Tim Garner commends the congregation for taking bold and intentional steps to pursue healthy and whole relationships with God and one another. It is a challenge to continue the journey of loving and honestly addressing any issues which may arise, using the truths of Romans 12:9-21 and Heb. 12:1b-2.
February 24, “8 Insights On our Spiritual Health” – Pastor Kurt
In January about 125 congregants completed a personal spiritual assessment. This message highlights 8 insights we gleaned from that survey. In essence this is the “State of the Church – Part 2” when our congregation is able to hear the results and hear how our leadership team, staff, and ministries are using and responding to this information.
February 17, “BE Like Jesus: PATIENCE” – Pastor Kurt
Freedom Sunday is about acknowledging God’s heart for those still in bondage (physically and spiritually). And it is a challenge for us to do something about that. God is patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish. This message answers the question, “What kind of patience does God expect from us?” and “What kind of patience does Jesus have?”
February 10, “BE Like Jesus: PEACE” – Pastor Kurt
Jesus give us peace, but His peace is different than what the world defines or gives. Peace is not the absence of conflict. Peace is the Presence of Christ. It is possible to have peace even when their is troubles and conflict around us. Jesus wants us to live in the peace knowing that He often calms His child, and not the storm.
February 3, “BE Like Jesus: JOY” – Pastor Kurt
We know what an incomplete pass is, but incomplete JOY? Jesus wants our Joy complete. He knows it can be lost, but assures us it can be restored. In today’s message Pastor Kurt shares why he has started to pray for joy, and encourages others to join him on a journey toward it.
