SALT: Outreach Opportunities

13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:13-16

SALT Update & Serving Opportunity

On Sunday, December 13, 20-25 families were reached out to during our “Laundry Blessings” service opportunity.  Many people intentionally came back after their laundry was done to thank us for the coins, laundry supplies and snacks. Children really liked receiving the activity packets provided by the Children’s Discipleship Ministry, and about 4-5 people picked up a devotional which was found and added to the event at the last moment.  Some families did not speak English, so their grade school children interpreted for them.  The parents were especially grateful once they realized what was going on!  If we have anyone who knows Spanish, it would be great to have you volunteer in the future. We want to thank everyone who participated in this event to bless others in Christ’s name. May God’s blessings be upon you as well!

Snacks, coins, and laundry supplies were offered at the local laundromat

OUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY TO REACH OUT AS A CHURCH FAMILY will be on January 26, while we serve the NM Fellowship of Churches Community Dinner at Zion Lutheran Church. Please contact the church if you would like to help us bless others through preparing food for this event beforehand or by serving with us on January 26.

How can we help you bless those you see or know? The Ministry of Outreach may have funds available to help with your blessing opportunity. Contact the office to find out how to get financial assistance with your SALT idea!
